The Sorenson Home

In Ezekiel's Valley

Earl and Julie Sorenson live with their two children, ages 10 and 11, in a spacious rambler in South Moorhead. Their home is easy to find just blocks from I-94 in a pleasant residential neighborhood.

The Sorensons have operated a care home for more than 5 years, and have cared for the needs of individuals of all ages for a great deal of their working life.

Julie's lifelong interest in caring for others began with childcare. She volunteered in a nursing home before obtaining her nursing assistant certificate at age 16. She worked in nursing homes until her senior year of high school. In adulthood she worked as a live-in assistant for individuals needing care, and worked in a group home for mentally ill deaf adults.  She is conversational but not certified as proficient in American Sign Language.

Locally, Julie has worked for area providers of care for several years, both in residential homes and in group homes.

In their first five years of operating a care home, the Sorensons have cared for individuals with a variety of serious medical, psychological and emotional needs. They have cared for individuals with quadriplegia and with ones who are unable to communicate their needs.
